Fringe Festival Update!

It's almost the end of the Fringe Festival and we have only 6 more performances left of 'Yellow Moon'! It's been a brilliant month; we've had some great audiences, loads of lovely compliments and feedback, some stellar reviews and we've had an amazing time performing 'Yellow Moon' each night!

A highlight of the festival has been receiving praise from David Greig himself, who came to watch one night. He said that we had "brought something new" to the play, which was one of the best things we could have hoped to hear! We've also been called a "true gem of the Fringe" by The U Review and got a 4 star review on the first night from ThreeWeeks, which we're particularly proud of. To read full reviews head to the Reviews page.

It's not too late to see 'Yellow Moon' if you haven't already, we're performing every night at 7pm in C Soco, Chambers Street, until the 29th. Click here to book tickets on the Fringe website, or you can buy tickets at the Fringe Box Office on the High Street, or at C Venues Box Office on Chambers Street.

In Short Productions is made up of Bristol University students and graduates, but 'Yellow Moon' is just one of many brilliant Bristol-born productions at this year's Fringe. Also from Bristol University students is Homemade Fusion, which is another In Short Production. Homemade Fusion is a modern musical from Kooman and Diamond that will have you in tears of laughter and leave you in awe of the performers' singing ability. Homemade Fusion is also on in C Soco at 8.30pm straight after 'Yellow Moon' and has been named as one of the 'top three musicals to see at the Fringe'. Click here to book tickets.

Other Bristol productions include 'Thirty Two Teeth' by Jam Jar Productions, who were nominated Best Newcomer by Edinburgh Spotlight at the Fringe 2010; 'Sanctuary' which is an original modern Opera; 'Channel Hopping!' from Bristol Improv Society and 'Aladdin' from Bristol Pantomime Society.

Yellow Moon in Edinburgh

“This is the part of the story where Leila and Lee go on the run to the highlands and nearly die.”

Yellow Moon: The Ballad of Leila and Lee is a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde tale that follows the fortunes of two teenagers on the run. Silent Leila is an introverted girl with a passion for celebrity magazines. Stag Lee Macalinden is the deadest of dead-end kids in a dead-end town. They never meant to get mixed up in a murder... but shit happens and now they need a place to hide.

Told through a combination of narration, verse, and naturalistic dialogue, David Grieg’s light touch script leaps from teenage romance to redemption myth; from wry comedy to classic tragedy. Featuring live, original music from student musicians, our production has a stripped back aesthetic, embracing the language in the script.

Funny, sad and a little bit different, this production from one of the UK’s leading contemporary playwrights is perfect for both teenage and adult audiences. From the winners of a ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award (2010).

If you missed 'Yellow Moon' at the Alma Tavern in Bristol then don't miss out on seeing it in the Fringe Festival this August! Watch this space for information, photos, videos and reviews!
